Ladies Epic Ride (Mendips)

Meet at:
Mud Dock Cycleworks and Cafe, 40 The Grove, Bristol BS1 4RB

Our Ladies Epic rides are a rare opportunity to share a whole day's cycling in the company of like-minded female cyclists.

This ride starts at Mud Dock in Bristol and will take us some 90km (just short of 57 miles) through the stunning scenery of the Mendips Hills. You will have the opportunity to test your legs with about 900 meters of climbing. There is one main climb on the day, the celebrated Cheddar Gorge. If you are planning to do the Welsh Mountains Epic on 7 August, this will be a great training ride in preparation.

We will first be warming up and preparing our legs for the climbs later in the day by riding to Clevedon on mostly flat country lanes. The first hill will be in Shipham and will set us up nicely for the longer Cheddar climb. With an average of 4% for 4km, Cheddar Gorge will be the highlight of this ride.

The ride then becomes a spectacular journey over the Mendips Hills with a bit more climbing before finally reaching the edge of Blagdon Lake and heading back to Bristol via Long Ashton.

A stunning route, ride guides, car and mechanical support, lunch stop on the road, a coffee and cake stop at the finish line at Mud Dock and all your energy food and drink supplies is what makes the experience unique.

This is what Le Sportif Epic riders said about us:

Janine said:

"I just want to say a big thanks for Sunday. I wouldn't have gone out on my own in weather like that, and going with you guys has really improved my confidence. Also everyone was so kind and attentive."

And Rosie said:

"Despite the rain I really enjoyed it - great route on quiet roads, with fantastic organisation. Hopefully see you again soon for another ride!"

So come and join us on our Ladies Epic Ride, just bring your bike and enjoy the ride!

In order to organise catering for the day, bookings will close at 5pm on Friday 15 July.
