As is the apple to original sin, so is this route to Le Sportif. A day out to transport you from the wonders of civilisation (Severn Bridge Services) through the breath taking British countryside, this was the route that gave birth to the Le Sportif concept. The desire to share a love of cycling and the beauty of the rides hidden in the hearts, minds, and Garmins of the members of this fraternity.

The road leads across the old Severn Bridge, skirting Chepstow, and out, through Usk and Abergavenny, to the Black Mountains. Gospel Pass takes your breath, both literally and metaphorically, and then descend to Hay-on-Wye. To choose this as a half way stop is wise, for you will soon be thrown back into the lanes and hills to weave your way down into the Golden Valley. On the road south of Grosmont is Oriental Splendour, splendid in every way, choose this as your succour before the last stretch of the legs through Monmouth and down the border through the Wye Valley. The wilds of Wales are swept away by the Severn and a return across the bridge.
